Facts:
Crappies are arguably the best tasting freshwater fish in Texas. We usually recommend only stocking them in larger lakes because of their tendency to overpopulate which ultimately results in their stunted growth.

Spawning Characteristics:
The spawning of crappie is quite similar to that of bluegill, in that they both build beds and have a tremendous reproductive potential. They begin their spawning cycle once the water reaches 60 -65 °F degrees, a process that continues throughout the summer.
